wooden horse,
1. Greek Legend. a huge, hollow horse made of wood and filled with Greek soldiers, used, according to Virgil's Aeneid, as a ruse by the Greeks during the Trojan War; Trojan horse. After the Trojans took it into their city, the Greeks stole out during the night and let their army into Troy.
2. any one of various wooden frames or supports, especially one having four legs, such as a sawhorse.
3. an English bicycle of the early 1800's; hobbyhorse.
